Bouygues E&S Contracting Rebrands as Equans Sci-Tech

The contracting arm of Bouygues Energies & Services has been rebranded as Equans Sci-Tech in a move aimed at targeting the UK’s expanding life sciences, technology and advanced manufacturing markets.

Now fully integrated into Equans following its acquisition by Bouygues Group in October 2022, the business will operate as a single-source specialist for mission-critical environments, with bases in Glasgow and Manchester.

The refreshed identity signals a sharper focus on laboratories, cleanrooms and advanced manufacturing facilities, as pharmaceutical, aerospace and technology clients seek greater certainty in delivery and enhanced operational performance across their estates.

Equans Sci-Tech is positioning itself around an “inside-out” delivery model structured across three stages – define, design and deliver. The approach is intended to ensure that facilities are aligned with long-term operational requirements rather than simply executing pre-determined briefs.

The contractor said it would embed value engineering throughout the lifecycle of projects, with the objective of converting capital expenditure into measurable operational returns. Key priorities include cost and programme certainty, reduced total cost of ownership and modular solutions designed to accommodate future change.

Steven Weir, CEO of Equans Sci-Tech, said: “Equans Sci-Tech is defined by its ability to bring certainty to the most complex environments.

“Our mission is to be a specialist partner that doesn’t just respond to pre-determined requests, which often don’t actually meet clients’ needs, but actively develops solutions and advises clients to ensure their vital strategic facilities are built to meet their requirements and suitable for long-term success.”
