Abacus, part of Contollo Group, has appointed Steve Kenny as Director of Project Management and Paul Camac as Director of Cost Management, further strengthening its senior leadership team amid continued business growth.

Both Steve and Paul join the Contollo Group from global consultancy Aecom, bringing extensive experience of delivering complex construction projects across the North West and beyond, working with public and private sector clients.

Their appointments support Abacus’ continued growth and investment in capability following its move into Contollo Group, which has brought together other complementary built environment consultancies including MBA, TACE, ESP and, most recently, KAM.

Both directors have previously worked with several of Abacus’ existing clients, helping to deepen established relationships while also supporting new opportunities across residential, commercial and mixed-use development, regionally and nationwide.

Steve Kenny joins as Director of Project Management, where he will lead the continued development of Contollo’s project management capability, supporting clients through the delivery of complex, high-value schemes. Paul Camac takes up the role of Director of Cost Management, strengthening the firm’s commercial and cost advisory services.

Speaking on the appointments, Ellis Goodfellow, Director at Abacus, said:
“Steve and Paul are highly respected professionals with proven track records in project and cost management. Their experience and leadership will be instrumental, as we continue to grow the business and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. Since joining Contollo Group, Abacus has gone from strength to strength, and these appointments mark another important step on that journey.”

Steve Kenny added:
“Abacus has a strong reputation and an exciting growth strategy. Joining at a time when the business is expanding as part of Contollo Group presents a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next phase of its project management offering.”

Paul Camac commented:
“Being given the opportunity to join Abacus now, during a period of growth was a key draw. Contollo’s focus on quality, collaboration and long-term client relationships really resonated with me and I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued success of the business.” Abacus currently employs 36 people within its Manchester office. Contollo Group employs over 140 people in the North West, as part of the broader 230+ strong organisation, working across national offices. Abacus and Contollo are delivering a number of projects throughout the North West working alongside long standing Clients including Alliance Leisure, Barratt Redrow, Bruntwood, Capital & Centric, Glenbrook, Harworth, McLaren Property, Muse, Sport England, Torsion Developments and Vita Group
