Monaghan-based Errigal Group has acquired specialist joinery firm Woodmarque for an undisclosed sum, it was announced today.

Errigal Group Managing Director, Damien Treanor described Woodmarque as a strong, market leader poised for further strategic growth throughout the UK and Ireland.

“Our companies have known each other for many years and there is a strong cultural fit, rooted in common family-ownership values, so this deal makes sense for everyone.  Woodmarque is a successful business with a strong balance sheet, and we are delighted to welcome them into the Errigal family.”

Damien Treanor said the Quinn family and the current senior leadership team would continue to lead the Woodmarque business. He said he had full confidence in their ability to drive the Dungannon-based business forward.

Woodmarque MD, Ronan Quinn whose father, Brian founded the business almost 50 years ago, said the family-owned firm’s acquisition was positive news that would facilitate further strategic development.

“We have worked collaboratively with Errigal for many years now. Not only are they highly professional, but they have built up a business portfolio into which we will fit comfortably. As far as we are concerned it will be business as usual for our staff, customers and suppliers, albeit within part of a much bigger group.”

Founded as a specialist in high-quality joinery and doorsets, Woodmarque embarked on an ambitious five-year plan post-COVID, investing in factory extensions and advanced machinery.

The company has embarked on a measured growth strategy growing its manufacturing facility in Dungannon from 50,000sq ft in 2019 to 130,000 sq ft, with employment numbers doubling and turnover increasing six-fold in the past decade. The firm works mainly in the commercial sector for contractors and developers working on residential developments, office fitouts and hospitality.

Woodmarque are experts in precise, high-volume, quality door-sets and specialist joinery for commercial and luxury residential projects throughout the UK and Ireland. In March 2024 it acquired Bristol-based Doorlining.com Ltd.

The Errigal Group, founded 30 years ago by Damien Treanor and Cormac McCloskey, employs more than 1800 people and comprises four specialist divisions: Contracts, Facades, Technologies, Sustainable Solutions. In recent years, the Group has acquired Potter Cowan, Gillespie and Comfort Frame.
