Lantra unveils £1m Coventry site transformation in landmark 60th year

Lantra, the awarding body for the land-based and environmental sector across the UK and Republic of Ireland, has completed a major £1m fit out of its Warwickshire office as it celebrates its 60th anniversary and launches a new five-year strategic plan.

The 13,500 sq ft transformation at Stoneleigh Park marks a pivotal moment for the organisation, aligning its workplace with its future ambitions.

Ashby-based workplace consultancy Blueprint Interiors was appointed to reimagine the 1980s office, replacing an outdated layout that restricted collaboration and impacted morale. In its place, an open-plan environment has been created, featuring a range of flexible spaces designed to encourage interaction, improve functionality, and better support Lantra’s people.

With Lantra’s changing culture and the need for better cross team collaboration, Blueprint introduced new ways of working. Breakout areas provide space for informal meetings, social connection and downtime, helping to strengthen working relationships while boosting wellbeing and productivity. The ground floor was opened up to create a large social work café, allowing for town halls, group gathering and a welcoming space for visitors.

The Lantra team played a central role in shaping the project through surveys, a design council and wider engagement, ensuring the finished space reflects real working patterns while building a strong sense of ownership across the organisation.

Sustainability was a key focus throughout the project. Upgrades include UK-sourced timber, new double glazing and solar panels to improve energy performance and reduce reliance on traditional systems. A new electric climate system enhances efficiency and comfort, while EV charging points and water-efficient systems further strengthen the building’s environmental credentials.

Where possible, existing furniture was reused or donated to minimise waste, and new materials were carefully selected for recyclability, ensuring the space is fit for both present needs and long-term impact.

David Cooke, Director of Finance and Operations at Lantra, said: “From the outset, Blueprint challenged our thinking and helped us rethink what the space needed to deliver. The process was clear, collaborative and enjoyable from concept through to completion.

“As we reached the incredible milestone of 60 years, it felt like the perfect time to create a workplace that truly works for our team, one that supports efficiency but is also a more enjoyable place to be. We’re already seeing the benefits, with more natural, informal interaction happening every day.

“This new workplace reflects how Lantra is evolving, we’re more connected, more collaborative and focused on the future. By investing in our people and our environment, we’ve created a space that supports our long-term ambitions while reinforcing our commitment to the region.”

Chloe Sproston, Creative Director at Blueprint Interiors, said: “This has been a fantastic journey with the Lantra team. Through detailed consultation, we shaped a workspace around real people and real working patterns, while ensuring long-term flexibility as the organisation grows.

“The result is a future-ready workplace that can adapt over time and truly reflects Lantra’s culture and ambition. It’s been a pleasure to work with everyone involved.”

Registered charity Lantra operates across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, . Working with industry bodies, employers, governments and educators, it provides high-quality training, assessments, career guidance and partnership opportunities—equipping both employers and learners with the skills they need to thrive.
