Westminster City Council has awarded FM Conway, working in partnership with WSP, a major contract to maintain and enhance the capital’s highways and public realm infrastructure.

The agreement has been awarded for an initial term of 8.5 years, with the option to extend for a further four years, giving the contract a potential total value of £1.25bn over 12.5 years.

Under the deal, FM Conway will be responsible for the design, construction, inspection and maintenance of Westminster’s highway assets. The scope of work includes carriageways, footways, street lighting, drainage systems, bridges and other structures, as well as supporting a range of regulatory and statutory functions across the city.

The contract will see the contractor continue to play a key role in maintaining one of the UK’s busiest and most complex urban highway networks, helping to ensure the safety, reliability and appearance of Westminster’s streets and public spaces.

Andrew Hansen, Chief Executive Officer at FM Conway said: “This latest contract win reinforces FM Conway’s position as a leading infrastructure partner and is a testament to the service we have delivered, the close partnerships we have nurtured, and the consistent delivery of excellence that has shaped our reputation over the past 65 years.”
