Considerate Constructors Scheme launches Pathway and Supply Chain Partner types to strengthen industry collaboration

Considerate Constructors Scheme launches Pathway and Supply Chain Partner types to strengthen industry collaboration
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) has launched a new partnership framework designed to make it easier for organisations across the built environment to engage in a way that reflects their role, stage and priorities.

The structured model guides organisations from initial engagement through to leadership, with registration demonstrating delivery and partnership building capability, visibility and influence.

The framework reinforces CCS’s mission to raise standards, strengthen collaboration and support better outcomes for communities, the environment and the workforce. It introduces seven Partner Types, providing tailored routes to recognition and support.

Pathway Contractor Partner – for developing or growing contractors who want structured support. Offers a clear improvement route combining performance insight, tailored support and industry connection, helping contractors build capability, strengthen standards and progress with greater confidence

Supply Chain Partner – for subcontractors, specialists, manufacturers and material providers. Helps organisations translate strong performance into greater visibility, stronger relationships and new opportunities while demonstrating alignment with CCS values

Contractor Partner – for large or established contractors leading project delivery. Provides visibility, benchmarking and opportunities to demonstrate industry leadership and shape best practice

Client & Public Sector Partner – for clients, housing providers, local authorities and public bodies. Provides greater visibility and benchmarking insight to support informed decision-making and demonstrate progress, while embedding CCS standards from planning through delivery to support governance, consistency and social value aims

Strategic Partner – for industry bodies, federations, training organisations and sector‑wide initiatives. Enables collaboration at a strategic level to amplify shared goals and drive long‑term improvement

Knowledge Partner (coming early 2027) – for commercial organisations, consultants, technology and service providers wishing to contribute expertise, innovation and insight through collaboration with the CCS community. Supports thought leadership, events, campaigns and knowledge sharing

Pledge Partner (coming early 2027) – for designers, consultants and pre‑construction professionals. Provides an early-engagement route for organisations seeking to embed responsible construction principles during planning, design and pre-construction phases

Together, the Partner Types support organisations at different stages of maturity, from those building capability to those demonstrating excellence and seeking greater industry influence. Existing partners will transition seamlessly into the new structure.

The Partner Types form part of CCS’s wider work to support a more responsible, transparent and collaborative construction sector at a time when expectations around culture, community impact and environmental performance continue to rise.

Desiree Blamey, Managing Director for Considerate Constructors Scheme, said:

“Our new Partner Types recognise the diversity of the sector and give organisations a simple, modern and flexible way to engage with CCS and raise standards together.

Construction is a highly collaborative industry and every organisation contributes to the experience of communities, the environment and the workforce.”

The framework has been shaped through extensive engagement with contractors, clients, designers, supply chain partners and industry bodies.

The model is designed to:

  • offer relevant partner options for every role in the project lifecycle
  • provide transparent pathways from initial engagement through to long-term progression and leadership
  • strengthen collaboration across the project lifecycle
  • support improved outcomes for communities, the environment and the workforce

The new Partner Types sit alongside the CCS Code, updated in May 2026, giving organisations a consistent, modern framework across both registration and partnership.

Organisations can now explore the new Partner Types on the CCS website, identify the most appropriate registration or partnership route using a simple online decision tool, or speak directly with the CCS Partnership team.
