HG Construction has secured £225m of contracts from developer FEC to deliver four residential buildings at Red Bank, part of the wider Victoria North regeneration programme north of Manchester city centre.
The appointments cover plots NT02 and NT03, where HG will build a total of 895 homes across four buildings. The work includes FEC’s first build-to-rent development at NT02, comprising 316 homes in a 34-storey tower, and three further buildings at NT03 named Falcon, Kingfisher and Midrise, which will provide a combined 579 homes.
Construction at NT02 is due to begin immediately, with completion expected in 2029. Work at NT03 is scheduled to start in early 2027, subject to Building Safety Regulator approval at Gateway 2 under the Building Safety Act.
Anthony Payne, operations director at FEC, said: “With HG Construction on board we’re ready to deliver the exciting next phase of Red Bank. Following significant investment in infrastructure and public realm, the neighbourhood is really taking shape, with new homes, green spaces and the next phases of development now coming forward.”
HG Construction chief executive Adam Quinn said the contractor’s in-house delivery model would support the programme and quality requirements of the schemes.
“Our in-house self-delivery capabilities, including offsite bathroom and utility pods, allow us to mobilise efficiently while maintaining greater control over programme execution, quality and safety from the outset.
“We look forward to working with FEC to deliver high-quality homes and help create a thriving new neighbourhood.”
The contracts represent a further stage in the transformation of Red Bank, where FEC is progressing residential development alongside investment in infrastructure, public spaces and green areas. The neighbourhood forms part of Victoria North, Manchester’s wider regeneration programme to create new residential communities north of the city centre.
