Ecofill Group, a sustainable construction technology company that transforms site-won clays and subsoils into high-performance aggregate replacement products, has announced the formation of a new Advisory Board, appointing three senior industry leaders to support its continued UK growth and international expansion.

The appointments of Vip Gandhi, Mark Ollerton and Nirmal Kotecha represent a significant step in Ecofill’s growth strategy, bringing extensive industry experience, strategic insight and commercial expertise to the business as it strengthens its position across major infrastructure markets.

The Board will provide independent strategic guidance as Ecofill builds on its established UK operations, strengthens its relationships across the infrastructure sector and continues to develop its position as a sustainable construction technology platform. With an extensive international patent portfolio and growing industry engagement, Ecofill is focused on accelerating the wider adoption of its innovative soil transformation technology.

Vip Gandhi brings more than 40 years’ experience leading major transport and infrastructure programmes across Asia, Europe and the UK. Having held senior executive positions with Jacobs Europe, Sir Robert McAlpine and Keltbray, he brings extensive expertise in strategic growth, business leadership and major project delivery, including involvement in the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme and HS2 ALIGN joint venture.

Mark Ollerton FICE brings more than 30 years’ experience in commercial leadership across transport, aviation, rail, defence, nuclear and utilities. A former Commercial Director at National Highways and Interim Commercial Director at East West Rail, he brings extensive expertise in major infrastructure procurement, commercial frameworks and strategic programme delivery, including involvement in the £9bn Regional Delivery Framework, £4.5bn Smart Motorway Alliance and £7bn East West Rail programme.

Nirmal Kotecha is an experienced infrastructure leader with a career spanning highways, water, energy and major capital programmes. A former Main Board Director at the Highways Agency and Executive Director at UK Power Networks, he has played a significant role in shaping collaborative infrastructure delivery, including the development of the @one Alliance model at Anglian Water, the ED1SON Alliance at UK Power Networks and the Project 13 model through his work with the Infrastructure Client Group.

Together, the Advisory Board will help Ecofill strengthen relationships with major infrastructure stakeholders, identify new market opportunities and accelerate the wider adoption of sustainable construction technologies.

Dr Nigel Griffiths, Chairman of Ecofill Group, said:

“The appointment of Vip, Mark and Nirmal represent an important step in the continued development of Ecofill. Each brings a wealth of experience at the highest levels of infrastructure delivery, commercial strategy and industry leadership.

“Together, they offer a powerful combination of expertise, networks and independent perspective that will help us navigate new opportunities and strengthen our engagement with major industry stakeholders.

“As Chairman, I’m delighted to welcome three individuals of such calibre to Ecofill. Their decision to join us is a strong endorsement of the business, its technology and the opportunities ahead.”

Trevor Gaughan, Founder and CEO of Ecofill Group, added:

“Ecofill’s technology is changing how the construction industry approaches soil reuse. By transforming materials that would traditionally be removed from site, we’re delivering a practical solution that reduces costs, carbon emissions, and the need for imported materials.

“We’ve established strong foundations in the UK, and with growing demand for more sustainable construction solutions, we’re entering an exciting new phase of growth. The experience and strategic insight of our new Advisory Board will be invaluable in helping us strengthen our industry relationships, unlock new opportunities and accelerate the wider adoption of Ecofill’s technology.”

The formation of the Advisory Board comes as Ecofill continues to strengthen its presence across the construction and infrastructure sectors, building on its growing portfolio of projects and partnerships while strengthening its position as a leading provider of sustainable soil transformation technology.

Based in Leeds and operating nationwide, Ecofill transforms site-won clays and subsoils into high-performance aggregate replacement products that meet relevant national and European specifications for highways and earthworks. By enabling materials to be reused on site, its technology significantly reduces the need for soil disposal and imported aggregates, cutting lorry movements, carbon emissions and construction costs.
