Celebrity chefs hail “incredible” copper pans made entirely in Britain

Celebrity chefs hail “incredible” copper pans made entirely in Britain

The Heritage Excell Copper Cookware Collection is entirely crafted in Britain. Every element of its creation, from the hand-spun metal bases through to the leather handle inlays and packaging box with tissue packing paper, is created in the UK, with five Made in Britain manufacturers contributing to its creation.

Curtis Bligh, Head of Marketing Communications for Excell Metal Spinning, said:

“The Heritage range of artisanal pans from Excell Metal Spinning is actively supporting 130 UK manufacturing jobs. Of the eight leading UK manufacturers involved in crafting the robust range of chef’s pans, frying pans, sauce pans and accessories, five of them are proud members of Made in Britain. In fact, we expressly looked at the Made in Britain membership directory to find manufacturers to get on board with.

“Importantly, every aspect of this is totally sourced and made in Britain. This is a collective of British manufacturers coming together to produce a unique product.

“The Made in Britain accreditation gives us a tangible advantage in a very competitive market. It underpins that we’re perceived as high quality, entirely ethical in our practice, and innately sustainable in what we do. That’s what that Made in Britain mark really stands for: it really means something, and that’s why we have it laser-engraved onto our exclusive new range of celebrity-chef-approved pans.”

The performance and durability of the range have been thoroughly tested by Gary Pearce, head chef at the Michelin-recommended restaurant 36 on the Quay, and celebrity chef, food writer and cookery teacher, Gill Mellar. Heating evenly, even in temperatures up to 220°C, made of 100% copper and finished with a non-stick tin lining, the range delivers clear quality for even the most discerning cook.

Star of Channel 4’s River Cottage, TV chef Gill Mellar, said: “’I’ve cooked with a lot of pans in my time, but The Heritage Range takes some beating. Not only are they beautiful to look at, they are incredible to work with. They conduct heat instantly and evenly, whether they’re on the hob or in the oven. What’s more, they’re 100% British, which I love! Bottom line – you’ll probably never need to buy another pan again!’

Made in Britain members involved in the range include Excell Metal Spinning, which is creating the pan bases and handles, The Tuning Shop, which is crafting the leather inlays for the handles, ESSE Engineering Ltd, for testing and development. Bladen Box & Display and Roach Bridge Tissues contribute the box packaging and tissue paper insert packaging, respectively.

Alix Eltringham, Marketing Manager of Made in Britain member ESSE Engineering Ltd, said: “If you’re going to launch a pan nowadays, it needs to work with any type of hob technology. That’s why Excell Metal Spinning recruited ESSE to test this robust range of artisanal pans – ensuring that the full range is compatible with both induction hobs and cast iron hobs. They have performed excellently and are compatible with ESSE’s hob and oven cooking technology.”

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, added: “This collaboration is exactly what the Made in Britain mark is here to spark. When members work together under a trusted national trademark, they create not just exceptional products but measurable commercial value, giving buyers instant confidence, stronger pricing power and a clear competitive advantage on global shelves. It is also a practical route to a more productive economy, keeping value and skilled jobs in the UK through shared capability and proven provenance. The Heritage range is a testament to the Made in Britain trademark’s growing community of manufacturers and it shows what happens when British manufacturers support each other.”
