Former Pub Conversion to Dentist and Homes Approved

Plans to convert a former pub into a dental surgery with new homes have been approved, paving the way for a mixed-use redevelopment of the site. The scheme will see the redundant public house adapted to accommodate a dental practice alongside residential units, rather than being retained in its previous leisure use.

The decision follows a formal planning process in which the change of use and associated alterations were assessed against local policy. Planning officers considered the impact on neighbouring properties, access and parking, and the contribution the project will make to local services and housing supply.

With consent now granted, the project team can move forward to detailed design and construction planning. The conversion will require internal reconfiguration and building services upgrades to meet clinical standards for the dental practice, as well as fit-out and compliance work for the new homes.

Contractors involved will need to manage works within the constraints of an existing structure, including potential structural alterations, acoustic performance, and fire safety upgrades. The redevelopment is expected to bring a long-vacant building back into productive use, adding both healthcare capacity and additional housing to the area.
