Habiko has secured reserved matters approval from Solihull Council for the second phase of its 1,600-home Holbeche Place regeneration scheme, marking another step forward for one of the town’s largest residential developments.
Habiko is a joint venture owned by Pension Insurance Corporation, Muse and Homes England. The partnership is delivering a long-term programme of affordable rental housing across England.
Phase two of the Holbeche Place masterplan will provide 228 low-carbon one and two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent. The homes will be offered at 20% below local market rental levels, helping to increase the supply of accessible housing within Solihull town centre.
The development has been designed with a range of shared amenities, including landscaped communal gardens, secure cycle storage, parking facilities and electric vehicle charging points.
Holbeche Place is planned as a mixed-use neighbourhood that will ultimately deliver around 1,600 homes alongside independent shops, cafés, restaurants and new public spaces. The site benefits from strong transport connections, with Solihull Station, Birmingham International Station and the future HS2 interchange all within easy reach.
The wider Habiko partnership has set a target of delivering 3,000 affordable homes for rent across England over the next 12 years, representing around £1 billion of completed development value. Its schemes are intended to comprise a minimum of 75% affordable housing, with many developments targeting 100% affordable provision.
