33 Affordable Homes Approved in New Housing Scheme

A new housing development has been approved that will deliver 33 affordable homes as part of a wider residential scheme. The project forms part of ongoing efforts to increase the supply of lower-cost housing in the area amid sustained demand.

The affordable units will be delivered alongside market-rate homes, with provision secured through the planning process. The mix of properties is intended to support local households who are currently priced out of ownership or struggling to access suitable rented accommodation.

Local authority officers highlighted the contribution the scheme will make to meeting housing targets and improving tenure choice. The development is expected to proceed to detailed design and construction phases following the planning decision, with delivery timetables to be confirmed by the project team.

The new homes will add to the pipeline of affordable housing coming forward through private-led schemes. Industry stakeholders will be watching closely to see how quickly the units are brought to market and how they are allocated to eligible residents.
