Leading mechanical and electrical solutions provider, Salko UK, has been awarded a nine month contract extension securing continued delivery of ongoing maintenance support RWE’s Pembroke and Staythorpe sites through to the end of 2026.

Establishing itself as a trusted partner for RWE, the leading power generator in the UK, Salko UK will oversee ongoing maintenance support, primarily across RWE’s Pembroke and Staythorpe sites, maintaining their Exhaust Gas Housing and Exhaust Gas Diffuser following the completion of an initial seven-year contract.

The GT Exhaust Gas Housing repairs and ongoing maintenance aim to restore structural integrity, ensure operational safety and maximise the efficiency and lifespan of the turbine, lowering the need to de-load the turbine in peak demand season.

The contract extension will be delivered through call-outs and planned work over the next year, utilising up to 15 of Salko UK’s specialists.

Sim Sharphouse, Operations Manager at Salko UK, commented: “We’re extremely proud to have secured a contract extension with RWE to continue works at Staythorpe and Pembroke, the largest gas-fired power station in the UK. This extension reflects the consistent performance, technical capability and reliability demonstrated by Salko and further strengthens our long-standing partnership with RWE.”

In addition to its strong presence in power generation, Salko UK offers extensive mechanical and electrical expertise across various sectors, including construction and engineering, mining, welding, heating and cooling. The company has recently expanded its services with the launch of a plant hire division to meet growing market demands.
