Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) has launched its first Next Generation Forum, a new shadow board designed to give early career professionals a formal voice in shaping the future of considerate construction.

Made up of Rising Star winners from CCS’s Gala Awards in 2024 and 2025, the Forum brings together a group of 16 talented, values driven young professionals already demonstrating leadership and commitment to responsible practice across the sector.

The Forum comprises:
• Can Aytek, Programme Coordinator (Ant Yapi)
• Matthew Barnes, Supervisor (VolkerHighways)
• Adam Bashford, Solutions Developer (Tilbury Douglas)
• Joel Blanchflower, Site Engineer (Laing O’Rourke)
• Harvey Brookes, Site Assistant Manager (Knight Build)
• Liam Cater, Senior Project Manager (Ardmore Group)
• Elysia Forbes, Environmental Advisor (McLaughlin and Harvey)
• Zara Gardner, Sustainability Advisor (Collins Construction)
• Shaun Gormley, Senior Quantity Surveyor (Robertson)
• Aoife Healy, Community Liaison Officer (JJ Rhatigan)
• Megan McDonald, Estimating Team Leader (KpH Deconstruction Services)
• Hannah Mu, Talent and Social Value Manager (Berkeley Group)
• David Okorhi, Trainee Assistant Site Manager (Knight Build)
• Charley Tordoff, Environmental Apprentice (Tilbury Douglas)
• Abigail Wilkinson, Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Sir Robert McAlpine)
• Katie Webster, Foreman (Kier Transportation)

Over the next year, they will provide structured insight on the culture, behaviours, expectations and challenges shaping construction today.

The Forum will meet three times a year, ahead of CCS Board meetings, ensuring participant’s perspectives directly inform strategy, Code development and organisational decision making. This is a meaningful governance mechanism embedding lived experience from current sites into CCS’s leadership thinking.

Desiree Blamey, Managing Director for Considerate Constructors Scheme, said:
“Construction is evolving fast. Expectations around culture, safety, leadership, technology and inclusion are shifting and younger professionals are at the heart of that change.

The Next Generation Forum ensures their insight is heard, valued and used to shape our direction. These Rising Stars are already demonstrating the leadership, courage and clarity our industry needs. I’m incredibly proud to bring them into our governance and to give them a seat at the table.”

The Forum strengthens CCS’s commitment to being informed by the real, day to day experience of people working across construction. It also supports leadership development, broadens insight channels and deepens the Scheme’s relationship with employers across the industry.

The Next Generation Forum’s first meeting takes place on 27 March with participants set to provide perspectives on culture, behaviour, safety and site conditions.
