Case expands compact machinery range with new backhoe loader and electric mini track loader

Case expands compact machinery range with new backhoe loader and electric mini track loader

Case Construction Equipment has expanded its compact machinery line-up with the launch of a new backhoe loader and an electric mini track loader, alongside upgrades to its compact wheel loader range. The additions extend the manufacturer’s offering for construction, municipal, landscaping, agricultural and rental applications, with a focus on versatility, operating efficiency and access to confined working areas.

The new 550SV marks Case’s first entry into the European sub-80hp backhoe loader segment. Designed as a straightforward and cost-effective machine, it targets operators seeking a compact loader and excavator combination for general construction, maintenance and utility work.

Power comes from a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 74hp (55kW). The EU Stage V-compliant engine uses a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst and Diesel Particulate Filter after-treatment system, without requiring Selective Catalytic Reduction or AdBlue. This configuration simplifies the emissions-control system and removes the need for operators to replenish AdBlue during routine use.

The 550SV incorporates features intended to support visibility, reach and handling across different tasks. Its extendable dipper arm uses an in-line cylinder arrangement, providing improved visibility around the working equipment while allowing the operator to extend the machine’s reach when required.

At the front, the loader is equipped with mechanical parallel lift to help maintain attachment positioning during lifting operations. Compatibility with a range of attachments extends the machine’s potential applications, from material handling and site preparation to maintenance work.

The introduction of the 550SV gives Case a product aimed at customers who need the flexibility of a backhoe loader but do not require the higher power output of larger machines. Its compact specification is suited to contractors, local authorities and rental businesses operating across varied sites and working conditions.

Case has also expanded its electric equipment offering with the TL100EV mini track loader. Developed for landscaping, urban construction and farming applications, the machine combines electric drive with a 1.3-tonne tipping load and a compact tracked chassis. Its design targets work in locations where low operating noise and zero tailpipe emissions are important, including indoor environments and noise-sensitive urban sites.

The TL100EV uses three independent electric motors: two dedicated to ground drive and a third powering the hydraulic system. Separating the drive and hydraulic functions provides power for tasks that require simultaneous travel and operation of attachments.

The machine is compatible with a broad range of attachments through a Common Industry Interface coupling system, allowing operators to switch equipment to suit different jobs. This versatility is particularly relevant to landscaping and property maintenance businesses, where a single compact machine may be used for material movement, ground preparation and other specialist tasks.

Two track configurations are available to accommodate different site conditions. The wide-track version measures 1,026mm across, increasing to 1,067mm with the bucket fitted. The narrow-track version measures 890mm wide, or 914mm with the bucket. The narrower configuration is intended for restricted access, while the tracked undercarriage supports work on surfaces where ground pressure is an important consideration.

Non-marking rubber tracks are also available for indoor applications, helping operators work on finished surfaces where minimising marking is a priority. Combined with electric power, this makes the TL100EV suitable for selected indoor construction, agricultural and facilities-related tasks where conventional diesel machinery may be less appropriate.

Alongside the two new machines, Case has introduced upgrades to its 221G and 321G compact wheel loaders. The changes bring operator comfort, visibility and ergonomic improvements previously introduced on the larger 421G into the wider G-Series range.

These updates address the working environment inside the cab, where visibility and the arrangement of controls can influence operator comfort and efficiency over extended shifts. Extending the improvements across the compact range also gives customers operating different-sized Case wheel loaders a more consistent set of operator-focused features.

The latest launches reflect the varied requirements of compact equipment users. The 550SV adds a lower-powered backhoe loader to the European range, the TL100EV extends the choice of electric machinery for restricted and emissions-sensitive environments, and the wheel loader upgrades focus on the operator experience. Together, the developments broaden Case’s compact equipment offering across construction, rental, municipal and specialist applications.
