Breakthrough Masonry Support Tool, GripLock™, Hits the Market Through Grayson and Vision Collaboration

Breakthrough Masonry Support Tool, GripLock™, Hits the Market Through Grayson and Vision Collaboration

Grayson, in partnership with Vision, is proud to announce the launch of GripLock™ – a groundbreaking Masonry Support Tool designed to significantly streamline installation, enhance on-site safety and offer a commercial advantage to installers across the construction industry.

The tool is the result of more than 30 years of experience brought forward by Richard Brealey, Managing Director of Vision, one of the UK’s leading installers of masonry support, windposts, soffits, facade cavity management systems and advanced brick-slip cladding. After visiting several sites and observing teams installing masonry support, Brealey identified a clear need for improvement. Installers were losing time holding and marking up the next section, and the clamps in use were simply not effective enough. Recognising the inefficiency and safety risks, he set out to create a better solution.

Working closely with Vision’s fitting teams, Brealey began sketching ideas and then collaborated with a local engineering company to produce a prototype. Following extensive on-site trials and refinements, the team achieved a design that installers immediately embraced. Fitters praised the tool for speeding up the installation process by firmly holding the next section of masonry support in place. They also highlighted the drastic improvement to health and safety, as the tool reduces the risk of sections falling, while enabling the installation to be completed without an additional pair of hands. This increased efficiency not only improves workflow but gives installers a genuine commercial advantage.

With the concept proven, Brealey patented the design and turned to Grayson to help develop the tool further and bring it to market. Having worked closely with Grayson over many years, he saw them as the natural choice due to their strong reputation for innovation, their collaborative work with universities, and their long-standing commitment to developing practical, user-focused products for the industry. Grayson’s development expertise helped refine the early prototype into a polished, professional, market-ready solution.

Clare Spivey, Sales & Marketing Director at Grayson, says:  “The new GripLock™ Masonry Support Setting Tool offers a quick and effective solution to a long-standing challenge. Here at Grayson, we’re delighted to help bring such a practical and innovative product to market.”

Richard Brealey, Managing Director at Vision, adds:  “Making GripLock™ widely accessible is the right thing to do for the industry, enabling others to benefit from safer, faster and more efficient masonry support installation. And, Grayson was always going to be our partner of choice as I like the fact that Grayson doesn’t just sell products but instead considers the end user.”

GripLock™, the Masonry Support Setting Tool, is now officially available for purchase through Grayson, ensuring that installers across the UK can benefit from this simple yet transformative innovation.
