A man has died and another has been left with serious injuries after a wall collapsed at a property in Brisbane’s inner-south suburb of West End.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Monday afternoon, where a section of wall reportedly gave way while work was being carried out on the site. One man died at the scene, while the other was treated by paramedics before being transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Queensland Police and Workplace Health and Safety officers attended the address and have begun inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collapse. The site has been secured while investigators examine the structure and any equipment involved.

Authorities are expected to review compliance with relevant construction and demolition safety requirements as part of the investigation. No further details about the workers or the company involved had been released at the time of publication.
