Gilbert-Ash starts on £120m Wilde aparthotel in Shoreditch

Gilbert-Ash starts on £120m Wilde aparthotel in Shoreditch

Gilbert-Ash has broken ground on a £120m Wilde aparthotel in Shoreditch for Dublin-based Staycity Group and developer The Property Trust Group. The 11-storey scheme at 19 Great Eastern Road will be Staycity’s largest Wilde-branded property in the capital and its fifth in London Zone 1.

WT Partnership is acting as project manager with practical completion targeted for May 2027, giving the project a delivery window of just under three years from start on site. The programme will need to accommodate complex city-centre logistics and interface management on the tight Shoreditch plot.

The aparthotel will provide 275 studio and one-bed units configured with self-catering layouts to support extended-stay occupancy. Ground-floor and podium levels will house a restaurant, café bar and cocktail lounge, alongside dedicated dining areas, a fitness room and guest laundry facilities.

A biodiverse roof is included in the design to enhance urban greening and support local ecology, as well as contributing to surface water management and thermal performance. The scheme extends the Wilde brand, which launched in Covent Garden in 2018 and now operates across Berlin, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London, Manchester and Vienna, with further openings planned in Amsterdam and Porto.
