Robertson Partnership Homes has completed construction of 58 affordable homes at Glenrothes for Fife Council, delivering a major regeneration scheme on a long-derelict brownfield site at Viewfield Park.
The development has transformed land that had remained vacant for more than a decade into a mixed tenure residential community comprising 58 high-quality, energy-efficient homes. Construction began in 2024, with phased handovers starting in September 2025 and the final 12 homes now completed ahead of schedule.
The scheme includes a range of property types, from cottage flats and townhouses to two, three and five-bedroom houses, alongside wheelchair-accessible homes and amenity bungalows designed to support diverse housing needs within the community.
Built to modern energy performance standards, the homes incorporate high levels of insulation, advanced glazing, sprinkler systems and efficient heating technologies aimed at reducing long-term running costs for residents. Solar PV installations have also been integrated across the development, helping the scheme achieve an EPC rating of B.
Beyond the physical delivery of housing, the project has also contributed significantly to local skills development and employment. Six apprentices were supported on the scheme, generating around 500 apprenticeship weeks, while a total of 257 people were employed during construction.
Robertson also provided targeted support to an individual not in employment, education or training (NEET), offering work experience and funding for a CSCS card, which led to a permanent full-time role within the construction sector.
Councillor Judy Hamilton, Fife Council’s housing spokesperson, said, “Completion of these new houses at Viewfield is an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality council housing across Fife.
“Developments like this not only provide much-needed housing for local families, but also help create strong, sustainable communities.
“We’re pleased to have worked with Robertson to bring these houses forward, and we look forward to seeing our tenants settle in and make their homes here.”
