Aalberts integrated piping systems UK has supported the delivery of a major residential development after its Pegler ResiFlow prefabricated utility array and VSH XPress press-fit system were selected for the White City Living, Westmont scheme in London.
The £161m project is a development of 528 high specification apartments that required a potable water distribution solution that could support installation efficiency, consistent quality and simplified commissioning across a high-volume residential project.
A technical presentation was given by Aalberts integrated piping systems to both M&E consultant Whitecode and appointed M&E contractor Woodford Heating. Following this, the Pegler ResiFlow unit was specified as part of the project’s stage four specification, helping provide a standardised and compliant solution for potable water distribution throughout the scheme.
The Pegler ResiFlow combines flow and pressure control, direct concentric meter connection and maintenance functionality within a compact prefabricated assembly. The unit is REG4 complaint, WRAS and NSF approved, PN16 rated and manufactured from DZR Brass, delivering 69 l/min at 3 bar.
Sam Verwyst, Building Services Engineer at Whitecode said: “The prefabricated nature of the assembly helped simplify specification and reduce installation challenges.
“It met the stage four specification and was a quick and easy way to install the expected valves before and after the water meter with no risk of any valves being missed.”
The project also utilised VSH XPress press-fit fittings to support faster installation and reduce labour time on site.
James Graham, Associate Director at Woodford Heating said: “We selected the Pegler ResiFlow because it combines the key components needed at each dwelling connection point into one tested assembly. It reduces the number of separate fittings and joints, lowering leak risk, reducing labour and improving consistency across multiple apartments.
“The inclusion of the individual inlet and outlet pressure gages also allowed us to verify incoming pressure and confirm PRV set pressure during commissioning and handover.”
Woodford heating also praised the heat-free press-fit system in that it helped address any site safety and programme pressures.
Cole Greenwood, Specification Manager at Aalberts IPS UK said: “Projects of this scale demand solutions that support speed of installation, compliance and long-term performance. Pegler ResiFlow and VSH XPress helped provide a reliable, repeatable solution that met both consultant and contractor requirements throughout the project.”
