AJC Group has been awarded a £23.9m contract by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council to deliver a major regeneration scheme in Boscombe.
The Poole-based contractor will deliver both phases of the Hawkwood Road development, which aims to provide new community facilities, homes and public spaces as part of the area’s wider regeneration.
The first phase includes the construction of a two-storey community centre, four retail kiosks and a new pedestrian link, together with landscaping, drainage works and improvements to community spaces.
The second phase will comprise 68 apartments across three residential buildings, alongside a new commercial unit, a public park, cycle storage, refuse facilities, parking and associated highway and landscaping works.
AJC Group specialises in affordable housing projects across Dorset and Hampshire and is currently delivering several schemes throughout the region, including the redevelopment of the former Buzz Bingo site in Bournemouth town centre.
David Cracklen, Director at AJC Group, said: “Developments like this have the potential to make a lasting difference to local communities, and that is exactly what we at AJC Group are striving to achieve through every scheme we deliver.”
Construction is scheduled to begin in July, with the initial programme focusing on site clearance and groundworks to prepare the infrastructure needed for the first phase of the development.
