Kier has secured a £140m contract extension with South West Water, strengthening its role across the utility company’s network for the next two years.
The contractor has been appointed as the sole delivery partner under the extension of the Network Services Alliance (NSA) framework and will continue to provide a broad range of operational and infrastructure services across the region.
Under the agreement, Kier will remain responsible for repair and maintenance works, leakage reduction activities, network reliability schemes, metering programmes and developer services, working alongside local supply chain partners to support the water company’s operational requirements.
The extension follows a period of significant activity for the contractor. Over the past year, Kier has completed more than 25,000 repair and maintenance jobs across the South West Water network, while also carrying out in excess of 32,000 metering activities. The work has been delivered within a high-volume operational environment focused on maintaining network performance and customer service standards.
The latest award reinforces Kier’s position within the UK water sector as the industry progresses through AMP8, the current regulatory investment period. In addition to its ongoing work with South West Water, Kier has secured roles with several major water companies, including Anglian Water, Severn Trent, Southern Water, Thames Water, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water.
The contract extension provides continuity for South West Water’s network operations while supporting the delivery of maintenance, reliability and efficiency improvements across its asset base over the coming two years.
