Kier has been awarded a contract to construct the main entrance at the Sizewell C nuclear power station in Suffolk, following confirmation in a joint statement from the contractor and its client.
The project centres on the development of the North Plaza, a 15-hectare site located east of Abbey Road in Leiston. This area will function as the primary access point to the scheme’s main construction zone, supporting the movement of both personnel and materials.
Works will include the delivery of a bus interchange, a dedicated deliveries hub and the installation of personnel security infrastructure. The site is intended to streamline access to the temporary construction area while connecting directly to the main build zone for the nuclear facility.
According to data provider Glenigan, the contract is valued at £70m.
The scope also covers the construction of new internal roads designed to manage traffic flows across the development. These routes will play a key role in coordinating logistics as activity intensifies on site, ensuring efficient movement throughout the construction phase.
