Forshaw Group has submitted updated detailed proposals for an 814-apartment riverside scheme in Salford, advancing plans for a major residential development along the waterfront.
The revised scheme places a strong emphasis on connectivity, with enhanced pedestrian and cycle routes linking the site to the River Irwell. Proposals include landscaped walkways, a new access ramp and tiered seating designed to reconnect the development with the waterfront, while improving links դեպի Salford Quays and Manchester city centre.
Chief executive Lyndon Forshaw said: “The final plans submitted are focused on community integration with the existing Ordsall neighbourhood, providing a Community Pavilion at the heart of the scheme.”
Demolition consent for the current buildings on the site was secured in 2023, paving the way for redevelopment to proceed.
The project is expected to deliver significant economic benefits, including the creation of more than 1,000 construction jobs and an estimated £67m in economic value over a three-year build programme.
Subject to planning approval, the development will move into the procurement phase, with a contractor anticipated to be appointed ahead of a potential start on site within the next 12 to 18 months.
