Home hunters in Wychbold will have a new route onto the property ladder with the delivery of 33 Shared Ownership homes by Bromford, which are coming soon.
The leading new homes provider is bringing the brand-new Crown Gardens collection to the town through the expansion of its in-house development team, Bromford Developments.
The development, off Crown Lane, is located between Bromsgrove and Droitwich, and first homes will be ready to move into from Spring 2027.
Through Bromford Shared Ownership, buyers purchase an initial share of their home, typically between 25 and 75 per cent, paying a mortgage and deposit on that share with rent against the remainder.
Owners can then later increase their share through a process called Staircasing, working towards full ownership over time and reducing their rent as they go, making the scheme an increasingly popular and viable route onto the property ladder.
That accessibility is especially valuable in Worcestershire, where average house prices sit well above the national average. According to Rightmove, the average home in the country changed hands for just shy of £330,000 in the last year, while Lloyd’s reported the UK’s average house price was £298,468.
Bromford Shared Ownership allows Worcestershire buyers to avoid the choice between staying renting locally to stay near friends and family or moving further away to buy a house with a smaller mortgage.
Simon Kershaw, Head of Construction at Bromford, said: “We’ve seen real success with our schemes in Offenham and Pershore, where we’ve built not only great homes that will stand the test of time, but communities where people will love to live.
“They are shining examples of what our expert team can achieve, and Crown Gardens offers an opportunity to build on the strong foundations at the heart of those achievements.
“We take real pride in the quality and consistency of the homes we build, and the communities we cultivate. Buyers at Crown Gardens can expect that same signature attention to detail, high specification and quality finish.”
Claire Richardson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Bromford, said: “Wychbold is a wonderful place to put down roots, with Bromsgrove in one direction and Droitwich in another. However, house prices in the county sit well above the national average, and that can make the property ladder feel out of reach for many.
“Shared Ownership adds a different angle to that dynamic and we’re excited to bring 33 new Shared Ownership homes to the market here. I would encourage anybody interested to register now, as we are expecting these homes to sell quickly.”
Wychbold’s transport links offer close proximity to the M5, and regular bus and rail services connect Worcester and Birmingham with locations further afield. The village itself is home to a primary school, pubs, a garden centre, with other leisure, shopping and education opportunities nearby.
