Cardo Group Expands UK Footprint with Acquisition of Trident Maintenance Services

Cardo Group has acquired Scottish contractor Trident Maintenance Services as part of its ongoing expansion across the UK. The Cardiff-based maintenance specialist said the deal would strengthen its presence in Scotland and extend its reach in northern England. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Glasgow, Trident operates multiple branches across the UK, providing construction and property maintenance services to both public and private sector clients.

Cardo has pursued growth through a series of acquisitions and asset purchases in recent years, focusing on maintenance and specialist subcontracting businesses. The Trident deal follows the group’s recent purchase of Scottish roofing contractor Faskin Group.

The group employs more than 950 operatives and specialists across its offices in England and South Wales. The acquisition will give Trident access to Cardo’s operational support and group infrastructure, while retaining a local presence in Scotland.

Liam Bevan, Chief Executive of Cardo Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Trident Maintenance Services. It expands our national capabilities, particularly in the north of England, and enhances our offering across Scotland while supporting our long-term strategy of investment in skilled local workforces and supply chains.”

In its latest accounts for the year to 28 February 2025, Cardo reported turnover of £145.2m, up 74 per cent, reflecting a mix of organic growth and acquisitions. Trident reported turnover of £18.4m for the year to 31 March 2025, up from £11.8m the previous year.
