E.ON has announced its exclusive headline sponsorship of Nottingham Women in Construction (NWIC) for 2026, reinforcing its commitment to inclusion, skills and community impact.
Nottingham Women in Construction is a volunteer-led network that brings together women working across construction, engineering and related sectors in the city, creating opportunities to connect, develop and champion greater diversity across the industry.
As part of the partnership, E.ON will sponsor all four NWIC networking events in 2026, provide speaking opportunities to share insight and expertise, and match fund the group’s annual charitable fundraising, contributing up to £2,000.
This collaboration reflects E.ON’s wider commitment to people and inclusion, supporting a more diverse and representative workforce while helping to inspire the next generation of talent into construction and green energy careers.
E.ON has deep roots in Nottingham and continues to play a key role in supporting the city’s transition to a greener, fairer future. Through its work to decarbonise Nottingham, the company is helping to deliver more sustainable homes, tackle fuel poverty, and create local jobs and skills opportunities.
Recent highlights of E.ON’s impact in Nottingham include:
- Installing solar panels on 600 social homes—one of the UK’s largest-ever domestic solar schemes
- Delivering 1,500+ energy-saving measures across 400+ homes since 2022, helping residents save an estimated £332,000 annually on energy bills while reducing carbon emissions
- Generating around 12,000 kWh of clean energy through initiatives such as the solar-powered fan zone at Nottingham Forest FC, which also saves 2,472 kg of CO₂ each year
Amy Holbrook, Social Value Manager at E.ON said: “We believe the energy transition must be inclusive and benefit everyone. Partnering with Nottingham Women in Construction allows us to support a fantastic local network that is championing women across our sector, while helping to build the diverse workforce needed for a net zero future. We’re proud of our long-standing commitment to Nottingham and are continuing to work with partners across the city to decarbonise communities, create opportunities, and ensure no one is left behind.”
Laura Sowter, Project Manager at Women in Construction said: “We’re delighted to welcome E.ON as our Headline Sponsor for 2026. Their commitment to supporting us at Nottingham Women in Construction allows us to continue creating meaningful events without compromising on accessibility or quality. Importantly, their partnership helps us boost our charity work—ensuring £4 from every ticket goes directly to our chosen charity of the year, Framework. We couldn’t achieve this without sponsors like E.ON, who share our values and vision. We are excited about the partnership in the year ahead.”
From improving energy efficiency in homes to delivering innovative, low-carbon solutions across the city, E.ON is investing in projects that make a tangible difference to local communities while supporting Nottingham’s net zero ambitions.
The partnership with NWIC also builds on this commitment by focusing on people, supporting inclusion, amplifying women’s voices in the sector, and strengthening networks that enable individuals and businesses to thrive.
