Royal BAM Group has reached an agreement to acquire A.Hak, strengthening its position in energy and water infrastructure in the Netherlands and supporting its wider growth strategy.

The acquisition will bring together BAM’s established energy transmission and distribution operations, civil engineering capabilities and experience delivering integrated infrastructure solutions with A.Hak’s specialist expertise in transport pipelines and trenchless installation techniques.

The two businesses have complementary geographical coverage across the Netherlands, creating a nationwide platform from which to offer customers a broader range of infrastructure services.

The deal will also provide opportunities for growth in the UK, where BAM sees potential to expand A.Hak’s existing activities and apply its specialist capabilities across a wider range of customers and projects.

The proposed acquisition represents a further step in BAM’s strategy to strengthen its infrastructure business and broaden its expertise in essential energy and water networks.
