Lotte E&C Adds Hoisting Lifts to Boost Tunnel Safety

Lotte Engineering & Construction has introduced hoisting lifts on its tunnel projects as part of a broader push to improve on-site worker safety. The equipment is being deployed to reduce the risks associated with moving personnel and materials through confined underground work areas.

By using hoisting lifts instead of relying solely on temporary stairways or vehicle access, the contractor aims to cut down on fall hazards and congestion in tunnel access routes. The change is also expected to shorten travel times for crews, helping to limit worker fatigue during shifts in deep or extended tunnel sections.

The initiative reflects a growing focus within Korea’s construction sector on mechanizing high‑risk tasks in underground works. Lotte E&C’s adoption of hoisting lifts is positioned as a practical measure to strengthen safety management while supporting more efficient tunnel construction operations.
